The Wednesday Community Fellowship series returns next week for a second season at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson.
“The series was started to give the community knowledge about all the great events and services in Greene County, to provide an opportunity to talk with the people involved, to get accurate information,” said Lois Rae Brant, who coordinates the series.
The series begins Sept. 10 with the speakers scheduled as follows:
- Sept. 10 – Erich Kretzinger, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Boone and Greene Counties. “All Things Habitat.” The local Habitat affiliate has been on the cutting edge of providing secure housing for many residents in Greene County.
- Sept. 17 – Karen Gotto, Lutheran Family Services mental health counselor. “Services Available in Jefferson.” A timely presentation as people realize that mental health is an important part of well-being.
- Sept. 24 – Dianne Blackmer and Shannon Haley-Funcke, Action Resource Center directors. “ARC: How It Serves Greene County.” The ARC board continually updates the ARC to provide the best help possible to families.
Social time begins at 4 pm, with the speakers presenting at 4:30. Most speakers will stay until for questions until 5:30. A light supper will be served each week at 5:30, with a free will donation accepted.
All are welcome. Contact Brant at 515-370-5249 for information or to suggest speakers or topics.
